What’s Happening: April

Oh, things are heating up in Prague! April can be a lovely and warm month, or rainy, but no matter. Lots of interesting happenings are happening all month long. Here are some recommendations, and be sure to check Prague Local Flavor regularly to keep up to date on what’s hot in the Czech capital.

April 7-12, Czech Dance Platform: Experience the best in new Czech dance from the past year in this packed week of contemporary dance events. Check their website for program and venue details. Pictured is “Guess how many stars there are.”

April 14-21, Days of European Film Festival: Current European cinematography gets its moment in Prague through this festival. On tap will be European films that were nominated for Oscar Awards, a Film & Music section and a section devoted to volunteerism, the European Commission’s current issue. In all more than 40 films from 25 European countries will be shown. Check their website for program details.  Films are shown at the Lucerna and Svetozor cinemas and tickets can be purchased from their box offices. Pictured is the film “Brotherhood.”

April 24, Guided Tour of the National Theatre: Your chance to get a back stage look and in depth explanation of this monument of Prague. The 70 minute tour costs 250 CZK and will be conducted in English. The tour starts at 10:30am and the meeting point is inside the entrance hall.
