As hard as it can be to imagine, occasionally people in Puerto Vallarta long for more than watching sunsets and drinking margaritas on the beach. The founders and participants in Puerto Vallarta’s Boutique Theater have been working hard to bring a host of new shows to the public for February.
Kicking off the month on February 6th is “A Touch of China,” a production that includes traditional dances, Qing Dynasty fashion and pearl jewelry. Puerto Vallarta resident Li Quan enjoys sharing the culture of her homeland and promises an entertaining and educational show.
Meanwhile for the romantics, “This Thing Called Love” begins on February 10th and concludes on February 19th. There’s a special Valentine’s Day show that includes sparkling cider and chocolates if you’re looking for something unique to do with your sweetie that night. “This Thing Called Love” has popular local performers warbling a collection of favorite love songs. The February 10th show is also a fundraiser for the Los Mangos library.
Lastly, end the month on February 22 with a hilarious reading of celebrity autobiographies. Each performance of Celebrity Autobiographies includes readings from seven different tomes. Auditions are being held for those who wish to read in coming performances. Support your local theater by attending one or more of these shows at Puerto Vallarta’s only community theater. Buy tickets in advance as there’s only 56 seats available in the air-conditioned theater.
The Boutique Theatre is located at 321 Manual M. Dieguez near Constitucion. For ticket purchase, call 044-322-728-6878 or email: btinfo.ca.
