Events, What's New — By Erica Firpo on January 30, 2011 at 4:22 pmThink the Roman Forum is so old, it can’t get anything new? Think again! Adding more punch to the block buster Roman Forum/Palatine/Colosseum billing is entry into the Atrium Vestae, House of the Vestal Virgins , a first century AD priestess-only grounds that is now open to visitors after a twenty year hiatus.
Located at the base of the Palatine in the Roman Forum, the House of the Vestal Virgins is “incredible”, according to archaeological Darius Arya who was on site at its opening ceremony. Arya’s snapshots capture his recent walk through the Vestals grounds and are shown on his blog Darius Arya Digs.
