San Antonio has many delicious places to eat, but if Italian food is what you’re after, here’s where you should go:

Known for fresh ingredients and its signature dish, Shrimp Paesano, this dressy Italian restaurant serves classic dishes to the who’s who of San Antonio. With two locations (one on the Riverwalk), you’re never far from a great meal.

Tre Trattoria
This fine dining establishment offers up such tasty fare as fresh (made on site) buffalo mozzarella with sea salt, and a wide range of pasta and dessert dishes. This more of a nouveau-Italiano menu than you’ll find at Il Sogno Osteria, so if new takes on old classics is what you’re seeking, head this way.

Il Sogno Osteria
Considered a gem of the local eating scene, this restaurant’s pasta and pizza dishes are classic Italian done right. Expect a wait at this fine dining establishment, as it is very popular with locals, and prepare to be amazed by Chef Weissman’s concoctions.

Aldo’s Ristorante Italiano
This Tuscan cuisine destination offers good food in a fancy atmosphere. Known for its prompt and helpful service and ten entrees under $20, Aldo’s is a great destination for lunch and dinner.

Aldino Cucina Italiano
Offering up classic Italian and Italian-Southwest fusion cuisine, this Pompeii style restaurant is popular with locals seeking unique dishes and old standbys. The kitchen can accommodate any requests, so vegetarians and others with specific eating restrictions can eat with peace of mind.

Little Italy Restaurant
Sample slices of pizza? Yes, please! Known more for its pizza than other entrees, Little Italy Restaurant has a full menu of delicious Italian favorites in generous portions. Although the location is a little off the beaten path, this is well worth the journey.

Sorrento Pizza & Restaurant
This family owned restaurant is known for excellent pizza and even better lasagna. Its cozy atmosphere and packed tables make for a more intimate experience than some of our other choices, but if you’re looking to dine with San Antonio’s local residents, this is the place.

Pizzabella Italian Bistro
Don’t let the outside dissuade you! This inexpensive Italian cafĂ© serves up large portions of your favorite Italian dishes at a fraction of the price of its competitors. Its lunch buffet is popular with local business people and its wide selection of draft beers make it a go-to destination for a relaxing evening to remember.
