URBN Coal FIred Pizza Opens in North Park

This Wednesday, URBN Coal Fire Pizza is celebrating its trek to North Park with a “Neighborhood Social” event. The new, 5000 square foot space is opening its rustic doors from 6-8 p.m., introducing the neighborhood to its New Haven style thin crust pizza pies served on classic baking pans.

Hardly the typical pizza joint, you’ll find pancetta, Gorgonzola stuffed cherry peppers, house shucked clams and buffalo mozzarella on top of these pies. Pair that with one of their signature salads, cheese boards, salami and chicken wings, you’ll never want to stop. Not feeling up for a huge meal? Try one of their signature cocktails on for size – with an endless array of mouth watering alcoholic beverages to fill your Wednesday evening.

“We are pouring high level, spirit driven craft cocktails,” says Nick Budrow, URBN’s bar manager—who was brought in from San Francisco alongside head bartender, Seth Laufman to design the bar menu. “Our philosophy is to pair the best boutique spirits and small production labels with fresh, seasonal ingredients. We’re taking the great elements found at best cocktail bars in the country and presenting it in an unpretentious, efficient fashion.”

Constantly packed, URBN is on the outskirts of North Park and across the street from local favorite U-31. For the sweet tooth in all of us, there’s Heaven Sent Desserts right around the corner, or for the adventurer head all the way to Hillcrest for a trendy cupcake at Babycakes.
