The Lincoln Room in San Diego

On 4th Avenue in San Diego’s Gaslamp district, you’re often not keen on finding a brand new restaurant. That might all change now that The Lincoln Room has set up shop directly across from the Horton Plaza exit. Convenient? We think so.

Owned by La Puerta, The Lincoln Room is a newly refurbished bar and eatery that is decorated to look like our old pal Abe Lincoln’s home. Don’t get my drift? It’s got logs lining the wall…enough said? The bar is a classic San Diego restaurant with bright shining lights and some funky art, and red leather booths that are still so shiny and new patrons might slip.

The comfort food served up is pretty simple, including mac & cheese, truffle fries and grilled cheese sandwiches – all the rave right now. They’ve got a little heartier fare with burger and larger poultry dishes, but from what we could gather the bar grub is the way to go – pair it with one of their $10 signature cocktails, including the margarita a la La Puerta, and it’s a great place to start your night on the town.
