Cheap Eats in San Francisco
Food, What's New — By Mary Polizzotti on January 25, 2011 at 12:33 amI’m still digging this list of San Francisco’s Best Cheap Eats provided by local mag 7×7.
My personal faves from the list include A La Turca for scrumptious pides and kebabs, Balompie Cafe for filling pupusas, Udupi Palace for dosa, Kasa Indian Eatery for a kati roll, Sai Jai Thai for their salty crab and green papaya salad, and Turtle Tower for a steaming bowl of pho.
If you’re short on cash, this list may be useful in planning the next Hallmark holiday – Valentine’s Day. Oh yes, it’s time to start thinking about this already, you didn’t forget did you? Your honey will be impressed by the flavors at any and all of these dining establishments. You can eat out and still have some leftover change to do something fun.

Yeah Turtle Tower is a good one, I especially like their stir fried beef noodle soup which has fat rice noodles, leeks, and carrots in a rich anise tinged broth.
