You may not have noticed the recent development within the airy space that houses the AMC Van Ness movie theater as well as the seasonal Halloween headquarters. But take note, a classy new venue just joined the San Francisco live music scene.

The Showroom opened a couple of months ago and it already has a steady line up of talented local artists on the bill. Whether you crave world, funk, soul, jazz, or rock, The Showroom covers the music spectrum. The next week features the Unauthorized Rolling Stones (which, if you haven’t witnessed this spectacle, you absolutely should) as well as Johnny Vegas and the High Rollers belting out Motown and disco tunes. Thursdays feature karaoke with a 4-7 p.m. happy hour.
Last week, local favorites Sol Americano and Eggplant Casino rocked the house. The acoustics are fantastic and the service is professional and refined – guests are greeted at the door and ushered to a table. The space is intimate and feels like a smaller Yoshi’s. The Showroom has a full menu with tapas and entrees, and a list of creative cocktails along with the standard beer and wine offerings (and Sam Adams on draft!).
The Showroom is at 1000 Van Ness Avenue at O’Farrell Street.
