Check out the sights of the Central Coast and the lush Channel Islands with a bird’s eye view of the landscape on a Channel Islands Helicopter tour (from $250 for three passengers). Based out of Oxnard airport, heli-tours by chief pilot Daniel Casey take off for flights from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara, and over the Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary—including Santa Barbara Island, Anacapa Island, Santa Rosa Island, Santa Cruz Island, and San Miguel Island. The whale and dolphin watching tour, Malibu Surf Tour, and the Two Islands Tour are popular flight options, and on Saturday, May 21, Channel Islands Helicopter is coming to Santa Barbara, offering 30-minute flights over local beaches, Stearns Wharf, State Street, the Old Mission, Santa Ynez vineyards, and under the Cold Springs Arch bridge. They even throw in some bubbly for the ride. For more information and to book a tour, click here.

This is a great thing to do if visiting the central coat, especially Santa Barbara. I bet SB looks amazing from the air. I personally have never experienced this but it seems like a great date! I visit Santa Barbara often and I’ll have to let my husband know that I MUST DO THIS!! Also if a first time visitor to the area i recommend hiking, shopping State Street, dining out at one of many great restraunants, or if you really want to save money, I always stay at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). Incredibly budget friendly and the location is unbeatable.

This is such a great experience! My husband took me to do this last Valentines Day and lets just say it was very memorable. The view from up above is absolutely breath taking and it was pretty affordable as well. There is so much to do in Santa Barbara; personal favorites for me would be shopping downtown, enjoying the beaches and all the great restaurants. I was actually just there for Fiesta and we had a great time! We stayed at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). So affordable and the rooms are so quaint and cozy! Loved it!

This is a great blog, I would love to do this the next time I am in Santa Barbara! I have had so many wonderful experiences gazing out at SB from high mountains but never from a helicopter! This would be such a great date. Men if you are reading this take notice! No woman would turn you down after this! I was just in town for fiestas and it was a complete blast! The weather was excellent and this heli tour would of come in handy! We stayed at the South Coast Inn (www.santa-barbara-hotel.com). So elegant and the perfect place to escape all of the city noise.

Wow, what a helpful blog! A helicopter tour would be so much fun! I’ve always wanted to do one of the coast but Santa Barbara would be even better, so amazingly gorgeous! I’m planning my next trip to Santa Barbara for the spring and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ll make sure to book a heli tour ahead of time! As well, I have to agree with Adele and Lesly; both of these hotels are excellent and very affordable. I have stayed at both and each were wonderful.
