Enjoy an afternoon of Native culture and holiday cheer at Santa Fe’s Winter Traditions Festival, 1 p.m. at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture at Museum Hill. It’s a special community holiday celebration featuring Pueblo children’s book author/storyteller Emmett “Shkeme” Garcia, Navajo ribbon and basket dance performances by Diné Tah’ Dancers, Tewa Woman’s Choir Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo and hands-on activities for the kids. The Tewa Woman’s Choir will be performing at 2 p.m. and is composed of Pueblo women, many in their 70s and 80s, who have been singing together for many years. They transpose traditional church hymns into the Tewa language–one of the main dialects of New Mexico’s Pueblos. Free with admission.
