Santiago is many things to many people. It’s got downtown grit, and uptown shine. This view of the tony, shiny part of Las Condes is taken from the upper floor of a building facing east, towards the Andes. This area is close to what locals call “Sanhattan” for its shiny skyscrapers, as well as being close to the financial heart of the city in the El Golf area. Great business and five-star hotels dot the area, as well as some great food and shopping on the street Isidora Goyonochea. Access is by the redline metro to the stops El Alcántara or El Golf. This safe, walkable area quiets down at night as businesses close up, but the restaurants are open until late.
