Where to Watch the World Cup in Downtown Seattle

A city with this many bars and pubs means quite a few options for soccer fanatics. Check out these three locations in the downtown area that are offering full live coverage of every World Cup game.

Kell’s Irish Restaurant & Pub

Watching soccer – sorry, football – takes on a new level of excitement in an Irish pub, and Kell’s is just the place if you’re looking for a pleasantly-rowdy crowd that really gets into the match. If things get too crazy, you can always take a break and grab an outdoor table with a view of the Sound. And depending on the time of the game, you might be able to take advantage of Kell’s happy hour menu from 4pm – 7pm, which includes $3 chicken wings and quesadillas. If Kell’s isn’t showing one of the WC games, they guarantee you can check it out right next door at Post.

Kell’s is tucked away on Post Alley, which runs parallel to 1st Avenue.

Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant

Located farther south down 1st Ave just before Pioneer Square, Fado is an Irish pub that is showing full coverage of World Cup games and offers a schedule of the games to download on their website. Fado takes their draught seriously, so if you (like me) prefer a more high-quality stout or ale to soothe your throat sore from screaming at the ref, this might be the pub for you.

Fox Sports Grill

Fox as in Fox News – that’s them. This bar and grill is large and spacious, but a total hotspot during important matches, and features a large menu of high-class sports bar grub. As the name indicates, this place is affiliated with Fox Sports, so you’d better believe you’ll be getting the full match live, and according to The Stranger, they’re also featuring a World Cup breakfast buffet.
