Suds at the Space Needle: Seattle International Beerfest 2010
Events — By Michelle Schusterman on June 27, 2010 at 7:06 pmLooking for something fun to do in Seattle for the first weekend in July? Head to Seattle Center after noon on Friday, Saturday or Sunday to sample hundreds of brews from the U.S., Germany, Belgium, Japan, Denmark, the U.K., New Zealand and more.
The Seattle International Beerfest 2010 (July 2-4) isn’t about Guinness and Stella, but rather “the greatest beers you’ve never heard of.” A $25 ticket at the gate (or save $5 by purchasing online) will get you the official festival glass and 10 beer tickets (additional beer tickets are available at $1 a pop). A 4 oz sample of beer costs anywhere from 1 to 6 tickets. For those serious about their sampling, go for the $35 VIP pass, which gets you 30 beer tickets and no waiting in line.
All tickets are good all weekend, so stumble back over Sunday afternoon as long as you’ve got your glass and wristband! You must be 21 to attend this event, but while the kids need to stay home, pets are welcome (and may need to help you find your way back to the car). And if you need more than beer to entertain you, there’s also live music all weekend, along with pub games and food.
