Friday Photo: Merlion

The Merlion is Singapore’s mascot. This mythical creature has the head of a lion and the body of a fish. There are five Merlion statues to be found around Singapore – two of which can be found at Merlion Park where today’s Friday photo was taken. Merlion Park is a popular tourist attraction, with more than a million visitors a year.

The viewing platform provides fantastic views across Marina Bay towards the Esplanade Theatre, the Singapore Flyer and the Marina Bay Sands hotel. There is a string of nearby restaurants at One Fullerton where you can enjoy an alfresco drink or meal with a view.
