The National Orchid Garden, in the heart of the Singapore Botanic Gardens is one of the highlights for many visitors to Singapore. This beautifully landscaped space allows you to wander among the largest display of tropical orchids in the world. There are over 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids on display here, all of which have been cultivated here at the Botanic Gardens.

In 1957, the Singapore Government began to honour state visitors and other VIPs by naming selected orchid hybrids after them. There are now over 100 of these VIP orchids which are fun to look through – keep a look out for the Margaret Thatcher, Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela, Jackie Chan and even Ricky Martin orchids!

Entrance costs just $5.00 for adults ($1.00 for students and senior citizens and FREE for children under 12), and believe me, it’s $5.00 well spent.
