Vertical Marathon

Events — By mariannerogerson on November 18, 2010 at 6:20 am

This Sunday sees fitness fanatics from across Singapore competing in the Vertical Marathon. This endurance challenge, which has been running since 1987, sees participants racing to the top of South East Asia’s tallest hotel, as they take on all 73 storeys of the Swissotel the Stamford. That’s a total of 1,336 steps!

There is no minimum time limit applied to the race, although if you want to be in with a chance to win, you might want to bear in mind last year’s winning times – 06.46 minutes for men and 08.29 minutes for women.

Once you make it to the top, you will be allowed 10 minutes to enjoy the view from the helipad before making your way back down to the bottom (presumably by lift?!)

Good luck to all those crazy enough to take part!
