Singapore is busy making preparations for its Lunar New Year Celebrations which will see us waving goodbye to the Year of the Tiger and ushering in the Year of the Rabbit.

Not surprisingly, one of the best places to head during these Chinese New Year celebrations, is Chinatown. Head on down to this vibrant part of Singapore to enjoy the annual Street Light-Up, which sees the already colourful streets lit up with twinkling lights, decorations, lanterns and glimmering arches.

You can expect plenty of lively action any night of the week, with street bazaars and entertainment occupying the bustling crowds from now until 5th March. It all kicks off this Saturday 15th January with the Official Light-Up Ceremony, when Eu Tong Sen Street and New Bridge Road will come alive between 6pm and 10pm with a rousing street parade, including street performers and lion dances. And with the local Chinese population’s love for firecrackers, you can be sure the evening will go off with a bang!
