To help celebrate the Lunar New Year, The Esplanade is once again bringing us the Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts – 10 days of contemporary and traditional works by some of today’s most outstanding Chinese artists.

The festival runs from 4th – 13th February, with highlights including Grand Expectations from the Edward Lam Dance Theatre from Hong Kong, Red Rose & White Rose from the National Theatre of China, My Musical Journey from Singapore’s favourite songbird Kit Chan, together with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and As If To Nothing, from Hong Kong’s City Contemporary Dance Company.

Children will enjoy The Magic Ocean, a theatrical experience exploring the magical world of the ocean through music, shadow-play and interaction. Recommended for 2-4 year olds.

Alongside the headline events, several free performances will be available each day, including puppet shows by China’s Xiamen puppeteers, lion dances, drum performances, song and dance troupes, outdoor movies, Chinese opera, drama sketches, Chinese orchestra ensembles and singalong sessions.

For a full programme of events and further information, visit the Huayi Festival website – http://www.huayifestival.com/

Tickets are available from the Esplanade theatre box office and from all SISTIC outlets.
