Sentosa Flowers

Events, Things to Do — By mariannerogerson on February 2, 2011 at 8:12 am

It’s that time of year again, when Sentosa celebrates Spring (not that we actually notice a change of seasons in Singapore…) by putting on an awesome floral display for everyone to enjoy. This year’s event is themed “Spring Wonderland” and will feature more than 200 types of flowers, plants and trees from around the world. The event opens tomorrow, 3rd February and runs for ten days until 13th February.

This year’s exhibition will see thousands of tropical and Spring flowers spanning the newly-opened Sentosa Boardwalk, Resorts World Sentosa, Merlion Plaza and Imbiah Lookout. The event is also known as “Chun Jie” or “Life flourishes in Spring” and signifies an auspicious beginning to the Lunar New Year.

So if you’ve eaten too many Chinese sweets or pineapple tarts already, why not get the whole family together and walk off all that indulgence as you admire the lollipop trees, giant flower, floral Spring rabbits and other floral displays around Sentosa. The event runs from 10am-10pm each day, so you can even visit after dark – and what’s more? It’s FREE! (Normal Sentosa Island admission rates apply)
