The Paddle Boats are Back

Want to impress your date, spin off your dinner or pedal your pooch?  Head to The Boathouse at Forest Park.  Situated on the recently restored and expanded Post-Dispatch Lake, you can rent a boat and paddle the lagoons all the way to the Grand Basin at the foot of  Art Hill.   Part Venice, part Las Vegas, this unique ride to the Basin cannot be missed.

And while the nice folks at The Boathouse may not paddle your boat for you, they’ll pack you a picnic basket complete with wine, choice of Turkey Club or Vegetarian Wrap, along with flatbread, cheese spread, marinated olives, Cape Cod popcorn, fresh grapes and chocolate biscotti.  Eat all that and you’re really gonna need to paddle.

Be sure not to miss the  7th Annual Paddle Your Pooch  dog-and-master boat race on Sunday, July 18. Every year, devoted dog-lovers and their furry friends fight for the Golden Fire Hydrant!

The Boathouse has live music on Friday and Saturday nights through the summer and  is open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.   Or just go enjoy a glass of wine … or three … and take a load off in one of their Adirondak chairs.
