Turin’s Madama Butterfly

Next week sees the last night of Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Regio. This new performance is by the young Venetian director Damiano Michieletto. The Teatro Regio’s Orchestra is conducted by maestro Pinchas Steinberg. In the title role, the Chinese soprano Hui He, “the best Butterfly you could wish for”, according to the Wiener Zeitung.
