The Teva Mountain Games started last night in Vail and it’s been a blast! The fun continues through the weekend as the best adventure sports athletes in the world converge on Colorado’s classic mountain town as the first hints of summer fill the air. Get ready for kayaking, biking and even extreme canine events!

Besides all the spectator events, the Teva Mountain games are a celebration of the outdoors lifestyle. Food, music and exhibits from Teva and other outdoors brands keep the weekend mountain vibe rolling. When the sun goes down, get ready to continue the fun as downtown Vail becomes party central. Good times — and a great way to start the summer!

Memorial Day Music Fest on Tap

Summer is right around the corner in Colorado and Vail is going to be kicking off the weekend with great music and good times. The pre-party begins Friday and Saturday — here’s some of the events we’ll be checking out for the Memorial Day Weekend.

Friday

Salem plays Main St. Grill in Edwards Friday night at 10 p.m. The free show highlights the bands jazz/Afro-Cuban musical roots and promises good energy along with a positive social message. Call 970-926-2729 for more details.

If you’re looking to dance the night away to rhythmic electronica, check out DJ Quivver over at the Samana Lounge Doors open at 9:30 p.m. and the party will go late into the night.

Saturday

The Blues, Brews & Barbecue takes over Beaver Creek Saturday and Sunday. Free shows will rock the plaza in Beaver Creek from noon until 6 p.m. On tap are Big Daddy & the King Bees from noon to 2 p.m.,The Delta Sonics, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Alto Reed’s Blues Entourage from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On the brew side of things, over 30 Colorado breweries will be represented. Tickets for the beer fest are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Each ticket comes with a commemorative tasting mug. For tickets to the Colorado Microbrews Tasting at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, call 970-827-6505.

After the blues & brews party, assuming you can still walk in a straight line, check out rock band 35STONE at the Sandbar in West Vail Saturday night at 9 p.m. The free show features hard edged music and helps fuel the party atmosphere at the Sandbar. Call 970-476-4314 for more information.
