The weather is warming up here in Vancouver, which means patios are abuzz with smiling faces and over-sized sunglasses. Beer is to patio, as beach is to sun, and you better be thirsty. For all you beer lovers, mark you calendars for May 10th – 16th because Vancouver Craft Beer Week is beckoning your name. During this week you can make your rounds at various restaurants and bars  to sample some tasty micro-brewery beers.

Check out I am a Canadian Craft Brewer from VancouverCBW on Vimeo.

Cooking classes at the Dirty Apron are a favorite amongst Vancouverites because they teach you the ways of Chambar (and fill your gut at the same time)…enough said. During VCBW, they are offering a class for “Beer Lovers” and tickets are still available. If hands on cooking isn’t your thing, don’t sweat it because some of Vancouver’s best restaurants are hosting dinners with beer pairings; check them out here. We often associate beer with men, but VCBW recognize that the ladies enjoy hops and barley as much as our male counterparts and have dedicated a night at The Refinery to the ladies (men are of course welcome).

If you’re not in Vancouver during this week, another option is to head over to Granville Island and do a little tour of the Granville Island Brewery Company.
