Happenings in Vancouver today

Things to Do — By Natasha John on July 6, 2010 at 7:11 pm

After last week’s celebratory festivities for Canada Day and Jazz Festival, this week seems a little more subdued. However, the timing couldn’t be more perfect; the sun has come out and we’re looking at highs of 28C by the water this week! It’s an ideal week to hit up Kits, Spanish Banks, Jericho, English Bay, or boat over to Bowen Island to soak up some sun.

Other summer activities you can enjoy in Vancouver are grabbing lunch and sitting outside at Granville Island, riding your bike along the Seawall, head over to Ambleside beach and enjoy the city views from West Vancouver, or go to Second Beach and swim in the public pool.

If you’re in and around downtown Vancouver today, word on the street is that you can catch the World Cup on a 27ft screen on Granville and Robson.

Also, GM Place is supposedly getting a name change today…more on that later.

Nothing but blue skies and smiles from Vancouver today!

Cheers!
