Activities to Keep Your Kids Busy in Vancouver

Kid Friendly, Things to Do — By Natasha John on March 22, 2011 at 3:10 am

The Cherry Blossoms are starting to come out of their Winter hibernation and Spring has officially sprung! Where there’s Spring, there’s a break and many kids are on Spring Break this week. With Spring Break comes energy that must be burned by the youngsters in your life. So, what can you do with them that won’t cost an arm and a leg and keep them (and you) entertained? Plenty!

The Vancouver Art Gallery is a great place to take kids for a bit of a cultural experience. Located on Howe and Robson, it makes getting there a breeze. If you’re on a budget, not to worry because kids under 12 get free entry this week for Spring Break. Pretty awesome, huh? They are also featuring some kid friend activities between 12-4pm that will keep them dancing, creating, singing and enjoying their afternoon there. If they get a little peckish, take them upstairs to the Gallery Cafe for a quick, tasty and healthy lunch.

Looking for parking? The Pacific Centre has a huge underground parking lot to store your vehicle. The location is easily accessible, which may come in handy if you need to bring things to and from the car throughout your day in Vancouver.

Check out these other fun activities with the kids.

Vancouver Aquarium – Explore what lives in our watery backyard!

The Seawall – Whether you bike, skate, cycle, walk or run your way around, it’s the perfect way to spend a sunny day!

The Police Museum – This spot will fascinate both adults and children with the tales of Vancouver’s past.

Science World – Exercise your brain and imagination!

If the weather cooperates, grab a picnic, a blanket and head to one of the city’s beautiful beaches or parks. Think of Spring Break as a practice run for the Summer holidays, which are not too far away.
