There’s no better way to start off the week than with a glass of wine at the Playhouse International Wine Festival. Each year thirsty Vancouverites eagerly wait for this event and this year the event runs from March 28, 2011 – April 3, 2011. This isn’t some wimpy tasting with a dozen or so wines to guzzle, they go all out in a very big way. This year is no different and they are showcasing 760 wines from 176 wineries across 15 countries. Fortunately, you’re not expected to taste all 760 wines.
There are many different events that still have tickets available and tickets can be purchased by going to their website for full details. The grand tasting lounge is where they will be pouring all of these lovely wines and they have conveniently made this evening available over three days (March 31-April 2). If you’re more interested in a gala and dinner setting, The Bacchanalia Gala Dinner and Auction is being held on March 31 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver from 5:45pm-11pm and you can be sure that the 550 plus people that are attending this event will be well looked after for the evening.
There are also a number of different luncheon pairings that are still available to join, so if you’ve got nothing planned this weekend I would highly suggest you take advantage of this once a year event.
