Over the years Gastown has seen a lot of change in the neighborhood. New condo buildings have changed the skyline, while old buildings have been revamped to house chic boutiques, charming cafes, bustling bars and wonderful restaurants that Vancouverites have become smitten by.

Gastown at night

Gastown is a popluar destination for those that are looking to go out and have a fun night, and here are a few spots you should check out:

L’Abattoir - Celebrating something special? L’Abattoir is the perfect place to enjoy a decadent meal.

Alibi Room – Beer lovers rejoice! With more craft beers on tap than you could possibly get through in a night, you’re going to be in beer heaven. Their food is also well above what you would expect from a pub.

Nicli Antica – If you can’t make it over to Naples, grab a table at Nicli and dive into their authentic pizza that’s cooked to perfection in their oven made from Mt. Vesuvius at 900 degrees.

Nelson the Seagull – They bake fresh ciabatta bread every day and make lovely sandwiches with it that go down well with their beautifully brewed coffee.

Save On Meats- A Vancouver landmark has seen a major facelift. Grab some meat to take home to cook, or sit in the diner and enjoy their comfort food.

La Taqueira - Freshly made tacos that are as authentic as they’re going to get in Vancouver. Their homemade salsas add a pop of flavor, so don’t miss those. This spot is easy on your wallet, to boot!

Pourhouse – Wonderful food and well thought out cocktails make this an easy place to spend much of the night. Sit at the bar, or in the dining room.

The Keefer Bar – Some of the best craft cocktails in Vancouver can be found here. Thursday night burlesque shows are a must-go!

Bao Bei Chinese Brasserie – This is not your typical Chinese restaurant, so don’t go expecting an ‘authentic’ experience. It’s a hot spot to take a date and enjoy their delicious creations.
