Clearing snow from the high country
What's New — By petedevine on April 27, 2010 at 2:13 pmNPS road crews are chewing away at the winter’s snowpack along Yosemite’s two high elevation routes. They’ve gone through snow 8-9 feet deep on the Glacier Point Road and have made it to Summit Meadow, about a mile from Badger Pass. Tioga Road is going more quickly, starting a thousand feet lower than Badger; they’re 12 miles up from Crane Flat, at the 8000′ hill a bit before White Wolf.
No predictions on opening dates, but it feels like they should both be open in May…
