Yosemite changes

Horse patrol rangers are training in the park’s prestigious horse academy now; they clip-clop in a neat line of paired riders from the NPS stables to their training area behind the Ahwahnee at about 9:30 each day.   Park volunteers, seasonal rangers and other staff are also getting trained and up to speed in the early season.   Visitation is quiet this week, but it’ll be busy on the weekends.

Road crews have plowed up Tioga Road to White Wolf, and up the Glacier Point Road to Summit Meadow.  Snow last night is slowing that progress a bit.
