• This memorial room devoted to the great liar was the family home of the Von Münchhausen family. Today it is the Rathaus, and it's filled with mementos of this storyteller, including that cannonball he allegedly rode. You can trace some of his "adventures" in the museum -- but don't believe a word of it. The fountain in front evokes a tale he told about his horse. He became suspicious when he noticed that the horse had an insatiable thirst, then he discovered that the horse had been cut in two parts. No sooner did it drink water, the liquid ran out the rear of the half horse into the fountain.
