If you're tired of the traditional Colombian dish of rice and beans, Bogotá will be a gastronomic blessing, as if offers a more varied cuisine than anywhere else in the country. For Latino food with a twist, head down to the hip and happening Donostias .The classy Spanish joint is owned by five young local professionals, and is a must for all meat lovers who can gorge on a fantastic Chuleta de Cerdo BBQ sandwich. The atmosphere is always upbeat and buzzing, and if you stop in on a Wednesday you can enjoy some live music as you dine.
Close by you will find another great little dining spot, called Restaurante Fulanitos, which provides a more traditional ambiance. Located in a colonial house, the restaurant serves generous helping of yummy specialty dishes from southern Colombia, and you can admire brightly colored walls covered with paintings that document Colombian history and culture. The restaurant is alive with charm, and come a sunny spell, the outside terrace is a charming place to sit out and admire the view of the colonial town below.
