Description:

Boise State University has become a topic of national conversation in the last few years due entirely to the success of the Boise State Broncos football team. Anyone who takes any interest in college football has heard of the blue turf. Aside from football, the University excels in many other areas.

Many locals remember when it was Boise Junior College. Now, however, BSU has earned its stripes as a leading university. With approximately 20,000 students, the university is constantly expanding. Some of the largest programs include the education department and the nursing school. Engineering is now taking its place among the top ranked programs on campus. The Honors College began in recent years to offer the advantages of a liberal arts college experience to highly qualified students.

Beyond what some call the best value in education, Boise State brings a host of cultural and intellectual opportunities for residents and visitors. The Morrison Center for the Performing Arts hosts performances by The Boise Philharmonic, Broadway touring productions, and other cultural events. Conferences for writers, educators, artists, and others take place in the Student Union Building.

BSU's campus is situated on the banks of the Boise River, just southeast of downtown Boise. It is close to bus lines, shopping, outdoor opportunities, and everything that goes on in Boise.
