I'd book a nice hotel in the center of Bologna, from there you can move walking in the city. speak to local when there they are very friendly, and ask for NON turistic places to eat, drink have your baby playing with other children (parks and similar places)
People in bologna are soooooo nice!!

If you want a place in centre i stay there in september and i've slept in hotel marconi. it's in Via Marconi 22 and this is their website.
If i don't remember bad for a doble room we paid 35 euro each one.
To eat in bologna you can find a lot of beautiful restaurant in centre not much expensive.
I hope my info could be useful.Good travel.
