Bonaire's proximity to the equator insures the visitor warm tropical weather year round. Despite the fact that the constant cooling trade winds prevail, it is most recommended that travelers liberally apply sunscreen. During rainy season as with all the Caribbean mosquitos are a presence at dawn and dusk so a good repellent is recommended. The island has a desalination water treatment plant so enjoy the tap water for consumption. Driving is on the right and street signs are in English and Dutch. Road signs are Dutch so a stop sign resembles the US yield sign.
Visitors must have a passport that is valid for six months in order to gain entry into the island. Tourists are allowed to stay on island for 90 days and cannot engage in employment during their visit.
