Sternstraße

• For any visitor to Bonn, a walk through the Sternstraße in the city centre is definitely worth it. There are many small shops, from where visitors can pick up great souvenirs. Don't forget to check out the houses in which the shops are located. Almost every one of these pretty houses has a sign on the first floor, which explains the history and use of the building in the past. The Sternstraße was earlier called the Pisternenstraße ( from the Latin word pistor, which means baker) which could mean that this guild was well represented here. The first syllable was left out after a while, and thus the street name has today become Sternstraße.
