    • backbar - Boston
      • 5. backbar

      • Backbar's speakeasy-esq interior comes complete with wooden stools that look like the empty shipping crates I'd imagine bootleggers used to transport their stuff "Boardwalk Empire" style in the 1920's. The clientele is more hipster than flapper and the music more 1980's than 1920's but the ice comes in chunks in the creative cocktails they serve. Due to it's affiliation with neighboring restaurant, the fabulously seasonal/local joint Journeyman, Backbar patrons sample the cuisine that makes Journeyman so special without the Journeyman price tag.

  • Boston offers the young professional, tourist, traveling businessman, and local arts aficionado a place to feel welcome when the sun goes down. One of the best neighborhoods to kick your heels up and dance like no one’s watching is the Back Bay. This upscale neighborhood has everything you need for a night out on the town. For instance, Sugar Shack is a nighttime mecca for the young professional looking for hot DJs spinning contemporary hip hop and house. If you’re not accustomed to a dance party but you want to spend an evening out in the Back Bay you should stop by minibar. Located in the Copley Square Hotel, minibar is a favorite among locals, tourists, and hotel guests because of its signature cocktails and hip lounge music.

The theater district, just South of Chinatown, on the other hand is the perfect neighborhood in which to explore live theater, dance, and music. Buy tickets to see the touring version of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular during the holidays when they perform at the Wang Theater or enjoy the famous Boston Ballet at the Schubert Theater. Both venues are located within the Citi Performing Arts Center complex, so be sure to make plans to see a show at both or either one of these sites. For an after show dessert hot spot, check out Finale centrally located within the Theater District and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Finale is the place you go to indulge and eat some of the best chocolaty goodness in Boston.
