Sitting in Downtown Boston on the edge of Beacon Hill is Boston's "New" State House. This State Capital is a sight to enjoy, both inside and out. From the once copper sheathed dome (now gold leaf), commissioned to Paul Revere, to the Sacred Cod sitting inside, Boston history is preserved within these walls. But this is a fully functioning political meeting house where the State Legislature House of Representatives gathers. The State House is open to the public; you may take a self-guided tour or call ahead to schedule one.
