- Mount Auburn is one spectacular final resting place. Although a cemetery, this National Historic Landmark, is also a botanical garden, an outdoor museum of art and architecture, and a habitat for urban wildlife. This 72 acre site is woodland that spans both Watertown and Cambridge and acts as a "rural cemetery" amidst the urban sprawl. Many famed Bostonians are buried here and interactive tours can guide you throughout to check out their stones.
