Description:
- See the world's fastest feet before they skip town. Riverdance is at the Wang Theatre, stirring up audiences for the 10th season. The show that began in Dublin and has been touring internationally ever since, starts with a thunderous entrance of tapping toes that add an electric sound to the live music. The stage-side musicians, each playing several instruments, take turns with solos on stage between dance movements. In each piece, the dancers manage to emanate complete confidence and poise, keeping their upper-bodies still while their legs move like they're battery-powered. Split second timing and hair-breadth precision add to the excitement of the electrifying performance. These dancers know the steps in their sleep. The highlights of the evening are performances by lead dancers Melissa Convery and Padraic Moyles (who dances with a grin of absolute pleasure), a flamenco soloist, Nuria Brisa, and a dance-off between American and Irish performers. No matter how much this show has been built up by your friends, when the curtain opens, it will blow you away.
