For a day, if you like history and walking, I will definitely do the Freedom Trail (free) or take a tour with the Duck Tour. The next day you could strolling in Boylston and Newberry street for the best restaurant and shops, then you can still spend an Hour or two in the Garden and the Common then finish with a nice Dinner in the North End Italian Neighborhood.
