A trip for you and your significant other

2
DAYS
Destination(s):
Boston
Trip type(s): Romantic
Author: Elizabeth
Elizabeth returned home to Boston in 2005 and now lives in the Back Bay. You will often find her buying fruit at the Haymarket, sunning on the common, reading on the green line or barhopping her way across the city. She is currently studying epidemiology and always on the look out for new things to do in Boston.
Eat well and hit up the jazz hot spots for cocktails.
Day 1 - Boston
 Day Note

Start off with brunch at Brassarie Jo, then head to the Boston Public Garden. If you are in Boston in the warmer months, go for a swan boat ride or sit in the sun and people watch. If it's winter, go ice skating on frog pond. On a Harbor Cruise during the summer you and your significant other can get some photos with the Boston skyline in the background. Afterwards, get dinner at Mamma Maria. Be sure to get a table on the second floor for a more intimate dinner and a view of the square. The Beehive , in the South End is good for dinner too, but it's also good for the jazz music and a martini.

Beehive (The)
 Type: Restaurant
Housed inside the Boston Center for the Arts, Beehive (The) restaurant is almost like an opera house in itself with live jazz, cabaret and a lot more action. There are fine satin drapes and exquisite artifacts adorning the eatery. A popular hangout with night birds, the bar and lounge scene here is also upbeat and lively. The food is a regular mix of the grilled and Mediterranean variety, with lamb ribs ruling the roost. Sausages, pasta and risottos also sit happily together on the menu. The rates are on the higher side but you pay for more than just the food here. The wine sure flows freely on all days and everything about the place has an arty feel to it. Definitely a place to get together with pals on a weekend.
