If you're looking for some tasty food that doesn't need to be accompanied by fine china and linen napkins, Boulder has plenty of options where you can get your fill. With plenty of students and travelers, Boulder hosts a variety of sub shops, pizza joints, burrito bars, and pubs that will sate your hunger for sumptuous value. These fuss-free places also offer the opportunity to rub shoulders with everyday locals.
One of the cheapest and strangest restaurants in town is Kim To Go. Located in a glorified shack in a parking lot, Kim's cooks up fresh Vietnamese dishes in woks and has two picnic tables if you want to ignore the "To Go" part. For a big ol' container of food, their $4 lunches can't be beat. Also on the University Hill is You & Mee Noodle House, which serves big bowls of pho for $5 (small) to $7 (large).
Tibet Kitchen's weekday lunch special is a great deal, too: $5 for two entrées with noodles or rice. Sherpa's $7 lunch special is slightly pricier, but is a bit more food and comes with a side of naan.
Illegal Pete's has one store on the Pearl Street Mall and another on the University Hill and serves up huge burritos for between $5.65 and $6.75. For more authentic Hispanic cuisine, Efrain's and Pupusas are both great, inexpensive options.
For a restaurant with table service, the Mountain Sun's prices are pretty good and their higher-end pub food nicely compliments their tasty brews.
