Description:
- This trail starts at the road closure at Buckingham Park operated by Boulder Count Parks department. It loops over a high ridge separating the North Fork Middle Boulder Creek/Jasper Creek drainage at 11,140 ft. It passes Diamond Lake, an extremely heavily used site with considerable damage along the shore from overuse. It then goes on to intersect with Chittenden Mountain Trail and Devils Thumb Lake Trail.
There is a great deal of private land in the area. Please obey signs and stay on trails. Directions: Travel west on CR #130 and then northwest on CR #111 to the 4th of July/Buckingham Park Campground. Hiking alternatives include Diamond Lake Trail from Hessie, Arapaho Glacier Trail from Rainbow Lakes, and Arapaho Pass from Monarch Lake (Hot Sulfur District).
