Description:
- This trail drops gradually to James Peak Lake, set in the basin below the east face of James Peak (13,249'). Fishing, picnicking and camping are the principal attractions. You can hike up to James Peak from the lake. The Ute trail intersects James Peak Lake Trail about .5 miles from the trailhead and travels about 2.5 miles to the Continental Divide.
