Description:

  • Now consisting of just a few paved streets, with a population of about 42, there's not much left of this former mining town. However, it does have some pretty spectacular panoramas of the surrounding Rockies and Continental Divide. Despite being the only town in Colorado without a saloon, it still attracted a number of residents. However, with the silver decline in 1893, most residents chose to live elsewhere, leaving the empty shell visitors see today. Still, it's a great trip if you're looking for something close.
