  • The Hilton Barbados lies on a rocky peninsula near the island's only airport, at the site of one of the most important 17th-century British military installations in the Caribbean, Fort Charles. Flanked with more than 5.7 hectares (14 acres) of land at the southern edge of Bridgetown, the hotel boasts direct access to a very good white sandy beach, as well as the much-reconstructed site of the 1650 fort. The Hilton's architecture incorporates jutting balconies and wide expanses of glass; bedrooms are arranged around a central atrium filled with tropical gardens. Each of the well-furnished units has a view of Carlisle Bay on the north side or the Atlantic on the south. Guests staying on the Executive Floor enjoy access to a luxurious lounge overlooking the bay. An ocean-view spa has been installed on the sixth floor, opening onto panoramic views.
