Brighton

Brighton is the alternative heart of South East England and only 55 minutes by train from London. You'll find Brighton an ideal place for your short break as the city is a relaxing seaside destination and a place of cultural and artistic significance. Brighton may possess more of a town-type feel but it is actually a city.

The City of Brighton and Hove encompasses many areas and towns which are on the outskirts like the quaint town of Lewes and historic Rottingdean. Most people don't really see much beyond the city centre and this is quite unfortunate. If you decide to make your break to Sussex rather than just Brighton, make sure to spend some time on the South Downs, either in Seven Sisters National Park or if you remain in the city, in the rolling hills of the Downs near Kemptown .

Regardless of how far you venture, don't forget to leave your inhibitions behind and forget your diet, there is simply too much fun to be had in Brighton!
