Description:
Brighton grows hipper and hipper, the latest rage being a take on a Cape Cod beach bar, the type that JFK, Jr., might have frequented in days of yore. At this light, spacious, and airy bar, drinks are consumed at a glass-topped bar covering sand, driftwood, shells, and pebbles. The tapas featured here are the best in town, including smoked salmon and crayfish salad, king prawn tempura, sweet-potato wedges, grilled halloumi cheese, stuffed vine leaves, and fresh-baked focaccia. No tapas are served on Sunday evenings, but they do offer traditional English roasts such as pork and beef until 5pm. After that, DJs take over. The opening hours below are when food is served, but the joint itself is open Monday to Thursday noon to 12:30am, Friday and Saturday noon to 1am, and Sunday noon to 11pm. The bar even has its own transport cafe: an old jeep parked outside with a table in the back where patrons can sit and sip their drinks.
