• A longtime favorite, this restaurant in the Old Ship Hotel, in the center of town, enjoys an ideal location on the waterfront. When possible, locally caught fish is on the menu. Come here to savor such dishes as mussels in a fennel-and-black-pepper cream sauce, or grilled cod steak with a homemade tomato sauce. A meat specialty is roast rump of Southdown lamb with confit potatoes. The wine list is excellent. Stop in the adjoining pub for a before- or after-dinner drink.
