User Review:

  • A real gem! Smaller and more community-oriented than its famous neighbor in the Bronx, the BBG offers a wide range of experiences, from its legendary cherry blossoms (and many other flowering fruit trees) in the spring to such year-round attractions as its exceptional collection of bonsai, glass houses that present miniature jungle and desert worlds, a Japanese garden that shows a different face with every season, and a broad range of educational and outreach activities. Special bonus: free admission on weeknights in the winter. Stop by once and you'll want to return. It's right next door to the Brooklyn Museum, so visits to the two institutions can be easily combined, but do leave lots of time, since they both have much to offer.
